BixGrow Review 2026: Pricing, the Free Plan and the Evidence Gap
BixGrow is the cheapest credible affiliate app on Shopify, and it is cheap in the way that matters: a flat monthly fee with no cut of your affiliate revenue. Most of its competitors take a percentage on top of the subscription, which is why a $19.99 app can end up costing less than a $249 one at the same sales volume.
It also carries 4.9 out of 5 from more than 1,300 Shopify reviews, which is the strongest score in this category. This review explains what that score covers, and the one thing it does not.
Prices and rating read from the Shopify App Store listing on 6 October 2026.
What BixGrow actually is
Two programmes in one app. BixGrow runs an affiliate programme, where you recruit partners who promote you for commission, and a referral programme, where your existing customers refer friends for a reward. Most apps do one well and bolt the other on. Running both from one dashboard, with one set of coupons and one payout queue, is the reason merchants pick it.
It is a Shopify app and only a Shopify app. There is no WooCommerce, BigCommerce or Magento version, and no plan to use it alongside a non-Shopify storefront. If you sell on more than one platform, stop here and look at Refersion or a multi-platform tool instead.
BixGrow pricing
Four tiers, flat monthly fees, and no percentage of sales at any level.
| Plan | Monthly | Yearly | What it unlocks |
|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | $0 | $0 | 1 programme, 50 referral orders a month, up to 30 affiliates, email automation, auto-generated coupons, basic landing page and analytics |
| Scale | $19.99 | $215.88, saving 10% | Unlimited affiliates, programmes and orders. Customised links, lifetime and product commission, auto-applied customer discount, advanced landing page, referral programme |
| Pro | $29.99 | $323.88, saving 10% | Multi-level marketing, commission tiers and bonuses, PayPal and store credit, gifts and membership fees, bulk coupons, anti-leak coupons, custom domain, webhooks |
| Advanced | $49.99 | Save 10% | The full feature set |
Both paid entry tiers come with a 14 day free trial.
What a $200,000 affiliate year costs on each app, subscription plus revenue share
Twelve months of the entry tier plus any percentage of affiliate sales, calculated on $200,000 of affiliate-driven revenue a year. BixGrow $19.99 a month and no revenue share. Tapfiliate $89 a month and no revenue share. Refersion Growth $199 a month plus 2%. Social Snowball from $249 a month plus a reported 3%. Prices read 6 October 2026; this compares list prices only and ignores overage charges and discounts.
This chart is the whole argument for BixGrow. The subscription difference between it and Social Snowball is about $2,750 a year. The revenue share turns that into roughly $8,750. The percentage is not a detail on top of the price, at any real sales volume it is the price.
The counter-argument is equally simple: a percentage model only costs you more when the programme works, and the apps that charge it are generally spending that money on features BixGrow does not have. Which side of that you land on depends on the next section.
The free plan, and the two limits that end it
BixGrow’s free tier is genuinely usable rather than a demo, which is rare. It gives you one affiliate programme, email automation, auto-generated coupons, multiple payout methods and a landing page. Two numbers decide how long it lasts.
- 50 referral orders a month. Not 50 affiliates, 50 orders. A single partner having a good month can use the whole allowance.
- 30 affiliates. Enough to test the idea with your best customers, not enough to run a recruitment push.
When you outgrow it the step is $19.99, which is a small enough jump that the free plan works as a genuine trial rather than a trap. That is worth saying because the free tiers on several competing apps are sized to be useless.
What 1,326 reviews actually say
BixGrow, as the Shopify App Store reports it
Read 6 October 2026. On a sample this size a 4.9 is a real consensus rather than a handful of happy early users, and it is the highest score of any affiliate app we have reviewed.
The praise is consistent and unglamorous: setup is quick, the two programmes genuinely work from one place, and support answers. Several reviewers mention bugs that were fixed quickly rather than bugs that persisted, which is a meaningful difference and the reason the score holds up.
The gap in the evidence, and why it matters
BixGrow has no listing on G2, Capterra or Trustpilot. Every piece of public social proof it has lives on one page, the Shopify App Store, and that page only collects reviews from merchants who installed the app.
That is not a mark against the product. It is a mark against your ability to check it. A Shopify review is left by a merchant in two clicks, usually in the first weeks, and it measures installation and early use. It does not capture what happens eighteen months in, when you want to export your data, dispute a payout or leave. Those are exactly the complaints that fill a Trustpilot page, and for BixGrow there is no such page to read.
Compare that with Refersion, which has a Capterra profile where the awkward reviews live alongside the Shopify ones. More evidence is better even when it is less flattering.
What the criticism that exists actually says
| Complaint | What reviewers describe | What to do about it |
|---|---|---|
| Shopify only | No WooCommerce, BigCommerce or Magento version, and no roadmap commitment to one. This is the most frequently raised limitation and it is structural rather than a bug. | If there is any chance of a second storefront in the next two years, price a multi-platform tool now. Migrating an affiliate programme means every partner relinking, which nobody enjoys twice. |
| No independent review presence | Nothing on G2, Capterra or Trustpilot. All 1,326 reviews sit on one marketplace page controlled by the channel the app is sold through. | Treat the 4.9 as strong evidence about setup and early use, and weak evidence about long-term vendor behaviour. Ask in a Shopify community for merchants two years in. |
| Occasional bugs | Reviewers report bugs, usually noting they were fixed quickly once raised. The pattern is responsive fixing rather than neglect. | Normal for an app at this price. Check your tracking against Shopify’s own order data for the first month rather than assuming. |
| Features are tiered quite finely | Multi-level marketing, commission tiers, PayPal payouts, anti-leak coupons and webhooks all sit on Pro at $29.99 rather than Scale at $19.99. | Write down the three features you actually need before choosing a tier. The $10 difference is trivial; discovering the gap after launch is not. |
| Enterprise buyers will not accept it | Procurement at a larger brand usually asks for a G2 profile, a SOC report or a reference list. BixGrow has none of these on display. | This app is built for small and mid-sized Shopify merchants and prices accordingly. That is not a flaw, it is the target market. |
The honest summary: the complaints about BixGrow are about reach, not quality. It does not work outside Shopify, and it cannot be audited the way a larger vendor can. Nothing in its reviews suggests the tracking fails or the payouts do not arrive, which is the thing that actually matters in this category.
BixGrow pros and cons
Pros
- Flat monthly pricing with no percentage of affiliate sales at any tier, the biggest cost difference in this category
- 4.9 out of 5 from 1,326 Shopify reviews, 97% of them five star
- Affiliate and referral programmes in one app, one coupon set, one payout queue
- A free plan that is genuinely usable: 50 referral orders a month and 30 affiliates
- Cheapest paid tier in the category at $19.99, with a 14 day trial
- Multi-level marketing and commission tiers available at $29.99, which most apps reserve for far higher tiers
- Built-in marketplace where affiliates can find your programme
- Anti-leak coupons, which addresses the most common way affiliate discounts get abused
Cons
- Shopify only. No WooCommerce, BigCommerce or Magento
- No presence on G2, Capterra or Trustpilot, so there is no independent evidence to check
- The free plan caps at 50 referral orders a month, which one good partner can exhaust
- PayPal payouts, webhooks and anti-leak coupons start at Pro, not at the entry paid tier
- Reporting is lighter than tools built around measurement
- Unlikely to pass enterprise procurement, which usually wants an independent profile
- Reviewers report occasional bugs, though consistently fixed quickly
Who BixGrow suits
A good fit if you sell on Shopify and only Shopify, you want affiliate and customer referral running together, and the percentage models elsewhere have been quietly eating your margin. It is the clear value winner in this category and the gap is not close.
A poor fit if you sell anywhere other than Shopify, you need deep reporting, or you work somewhere that will not approve software without an independent review profile and a security document.
BixGrow alternatives
| Tool | Entry price | Revenue share | Choose it when |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ainfluencer | Free | None | You want creator campaigns and direct brand deals, not just affiliate links |
| GoAffPro | Free plan | None | You want the other generous free tier on Shopify, 4.6 from 953 reviews |
| UpPromote | $29.99 | 2% | You want the largest review base in the category, 4.9 from 3,818 |
| Refersion | $39 | 3% | You need an independent review trail and stronger attribution |
The verdict
BixGrow is the right answer for a Shopify merchant who wants an affiliate programme to cost a predictable amount. The flat fee is worth more than it looks: at $200,000 of affiliate revenue a year it is the difference between roughly $240 and roughly $8,988, and that gap widens every time the programme succeeds.
Go in knowing the two real limits. It will never leave Shopify, and you cannot check it anywhere except the store that sells it. Neither is a reason to avoid it at this price, and both are reasons to keep your own tracking records from day one.
Is BixGrow free?
There is a genuinely usable free Starter plan: one affiliate programme, up to 30 affiliates, 50 referral orders a month, email automation and auto-generated coupons. Paid tiers start at $19.99 a month with a 14 day trial.
Does BixGrow take a percentage of affiliate sales?
No. Every BixGrow tier is a flat monthly fee with no revenue share, which is the main difference between it and most competing Shopify affiliate apps. On $200,000 of affiliate revenue a year that is worth several thousand dollars.
Does BixGrow work outside Shopify?
No. BixGrow is a Shopify app only, with no WooCommerce, BigCommerce or Magento version. If you sell on more than one platform you need a multi-platform tool instead.
Is BixGrow’s 4.9 rating reliable?
It is reliable evidence about setup and early use, from a large sample of 1,326 reviews with 97% at five stars. It is weaker evidence about long-term vendor behaviour, because BixGrow has no listing on G2, Capterra or Trustpilot, so every review sits on the marketplace that sells the app.
