Use Case Guide · For Ecommerce Brands

Ainfluencer for Ecommerce Brands

An online brand has three ways to work with creators and three very different cash profiles. This guide maps your platform to the routes you can run, shows what each costs and when, and puts them in a 90 day order.

Stop 1

Where you sell decides what you can run

Paid collaborations and gifting work for any online brand. Affiliate programs need a connected Shopify or Amazon store, because that is where sales are tracked.

  • Paid and gifted campaigns do not need a store connection. A Shopify connection only adds shortcuts, such as starting from a product and shipping from the inbox.
  • Connected Amazon sellers keep only profiles in the eight Attribution marketplaces: US, Canada, UK, Germany, France, Italy, Spain and Mexico.
  • If you already run an affiliate program on another platform, choose I already have an affiliate platform in the campaign picker. It opens a paid collaboration where you share your own link.
  • Brands that sell in more than one place can run all of this from one account, but each connected store or Amazon brand counts against the plan limit on active programs.
Stop 2

What each route costs you, and when

The three routes cost the same kind of money at very different times. That timing, more than the headline price, decides which one a brand with tight cash should lead with.

A worked example, for illustration only

A $60 product that costs you $20 to make and $6 to ship leaves $34 of gross margin, or about 57%. Here is what each route does to that margin.

RouteYour costWhat is left from one $60 sale
Affiliate at 15%$9.00 commission$25.00 before any other cost. The creator receives the commission minus a 5% platform fee on Shopify, so $8.55 and Ainfluencer keeps $0.45 of your $9.00
Affiliate at 25%$15.00 commission$19.00. This is the lowest rate the Free plan lets you set
Gifting one unit$20.00 product, $6.00 postageNothing is earned unless the post leads to sales you can attribute yourself
Paid deal at $200$250 on Free, $240 on Starter, $230 on Pro, $206 on UltimateYou are buying content and reach, not a tracked sale
  • Check the commission against your margin before you open the program. On the Free plan the lowest commission you can set is 25%. If your margin is thin, that floor can leave little or nothing, and the plans from Starter up have no minimum.
  • New products arrive at a default 15% and you can set any rate from 0 up to, but not including, 100% on each product.
  • The platform fee on a paid deal is added on top of the price. The fee on an affiliate payout is taken from the commission you pay, not added to it.
  • The fee on affiliate payouts follows your plan for Amazon: Free about 5%, Starter 20%, Pro 15%, Ultimate 3%. Shopify purchases use the 5% default.
  • Money you spend on paid and gifted work is committed before you see a result. Affiliate commission is the only route where cost follows sales.

A 90 day launch sequence

Most waits are fixed by the system, so the order you do things in matters more than how fast you do them.

WhenWhat you doWhat you wait for
Day 1Connect the store, add the payout card in the affiliate dashboard, set commissions per product, fund the walletNothing. The connection and card are immediate
Day 1 to 2Save the affiliate campaign’s products to take it live. Write a paid collaboration and a gifting program and submit bothOur team’s review of the paid and gifted campaigns, which have no fixed time
Day 2 to 10Recruit in Affiliate Discovery, save a shortlist, invite in batches, and share your landing pageInvitations are emailed at 06:00 and 18:00 UTC. Creators need an Active account to accept
Week 2 to 4Pay the paid offers you want, ship gifts, and approve deliveries inside about a weekDelivery dates, and an approval you must give
Week 3 to 6Read the dashboard for clicks and early sales, then adjust commissions on slow productsAmazon figures lag by up to four days. Shopify figures move as shoppers click
Day 36 onwardExpect the first commission charges to your card for the earliest salesEvery sale waits 35 days. Creators are then paid, roughly five to seven weeks after the sale
Day 60 to 90Compare routes by cash spent over the same period, then move budget to what workedEnough sales to compare
  • An affiliate campaign is the only one live on day 1. Do it first, so the 35 day clock starts earliest.
  • Invitations to a campaign still under review are held, and deleted after three days if it has not been approved. Send gifting and paid invitations after approval.
  • Add a card before you invite or accept affiliates, or the app sends you to Billing. Without a card, affiliate campaigns are paused each night and are not resumed automatically.
  • Plan for the slowest wait in the sequence: a creator who sells in week one is paid in week six or later. Tell them up front.
Stop 4

Choose the products you put forward

Creators promote what you list, so the catalogue is a decision, not a default. Every product you switch on is a promise that it is in stock and worth promoting.

QuestionWhat the platform does
Where do products come from? They are imported from the connected store. Amazon products refresh about every 48 hours. Shopify products update whenever a product changes in Shopify
Which are switched on?New brands and stores start off and are switched on up to your plan limit. Amazon products start active only when in stock and eligible. Shopify products follow the Shopify status
What if a product runs out?Shoppers who follow a creator link are sent where that creator’s redirect settings say, often to the creator’s storefront
What if I switch a product off?It is hidden from creators, and links they shared stop earning. Amazon sales dated after deactivation earn no commission
What if I switch a store off?Every product in it switches off, and switching the store back on does not switch the products back on
  • Lead with the products with margin and stock. Switch off the rest rather than letting creators promote what you cannot ship.
  • For a paid collaboration on Shopify, start from one product. The wizard can draft the brief and copy up to nine product images in. The product cannot be changed afterwards, so a different product needs a new campaign.
  • For gifting, add products from the store or type a name, retail price and image, and list the countries you ship to. Only creators in those countries are matched.
  • Check rates after a store update. A store re-import may reset a product to the default 15% commission or turn a deactivated product back on under an active brand. Look at your commissions after big catalogue changes.
  • Add a terms of sale file (PDF, DOC or DOCX up to 4 MB) and brand assets such as images and videos for creators to use, on the brand page of the seller app.
Stop 5

Brief creators differently on each route

The same product needs a different brief depending on how the creator is paid. A clear brief also passes review faster.

RouteWhat the brief decidesMake it specific
PaidWhat to do (post existing content, create and publish, or content only), creator size, gender, countries, language, how long the post stays up, a link in the bio, categories, hashtags, who can send offers, platforms and formatsState the format and the date range you can accept. Agree usage rights in the chat before paying
GiftingCategories, audience size, platforms, languages, minimum engagement, age 18 or over, disclosure and competitor exclusivity, plus where you shipSay what you expect to be posted and whether a competitor ban applies
AffiliateCampaign name, dates, description, categories, the countries creators must be in, an image, the products and their commissionsDescribe who the product is for, and attach terms of sale if returns or restrictions apply
  • Our team sends paid and gifted campaigns back for a thin description, too few visuals, a campaign that looks like a test, an empty About Us on your profile and contact details in the text or images.
  • Creators see your About Your Brand text before they answer, so complete it.
  • Use the AI helper on a paid campaign for a first draft of the title and description. It works twice per campaign and only for the account owner.
  • A paid collaboration has no end date. An affiliate campaign does, and moving the end date later does not reopen partnerships already closed.
  • Choose Only invited influencers if you want to control who offers, and leave it open if you would rather creators come to you.

Discount codes and your landing page

Two things make a creator’s link convert: a reason to buy now and a page that explains who you are.

PlatformDiscount codes
ShopifyBasic discount codes that are active in your Shopify admin are imported automatically as public promotions and kept in step. Create them in Shopify, because creating a promotion from the seller app with a Shopify store selected does not work yet
AmazonCreate the same code, discount and dates in Amazon Seller Central. Ainfluencer only stores and shares the code and cannot create it on Amazon. Codes are 8 to 12 letters and numbers
OtherShare your own codes in the chat and agree them with the creator
  • Shoppers see the code only when they are signed in to a free shopper account. Guests see a Login to See prompt.
  • Promotions are not part of any current plan row, so the seller app may refuse to create one with a Promotion Creation Limited message.
  • A deleted promotion is removed from Ainfluencer only, not from Amazon.
  • Landing page. Every connected store gets a public recruitment page. Choose up to three featured products, and hide featured products or brand analytics if you prefer. A Shopify store’s address cannot be changed.
  • Share the page link, post it on your own site, or use Share and Embed on an affiliate campaign for ready made banner, widget, badge and email blocks.
Stop 7

Shipping and fulfilment

Shipping is where an ecommerce brand’s own process meets the platform. Each route handles it differently.

RouteHow a product reaches the creatorWhat you do
Paid, on ShopifyFrom the inbox, after the offer is paid: Send via Shopify. Ainfluencer creates a free order with a 100% discount in your store and creates the fulfilment, so you ship as usualChoose the carrier, enter the tracking number and click Submit and Track. The creator and you are told when it is delivered
Paid, elsewhereAgree it in the chat. The creator’s address can be shared as an address cardShip yourself and share tracking. Consider insurance on the order for a product that must come back
GiftingAccept the request, then you shipShare the tracking number and move the card to Shipped the same day. The address locks then
  • Insurance. On a paid offer you can insure a physical product. You enter the product value and pay a percentage of it, covering a product that is not returned and a creator who never delivers.
  • The option that asks the creator for their address does not yet work from the creator’s app for the Shopify flow. Ask in the chat and use Enter a different address.
  • Gifting does not use Shopify fulfilment or tracking. Ship it yourself and share the tracking number in the chat.
  • A gifted creator confirms receipt, posts, and submits the links, and you can export the whole board.
  • Plan your stock for the program. Gifting settings for units and low stock are stored but not acted on, so count units yourself.
Stop 8

Measure each route fairly

The routes report differently, so compare them by what you spent and what you can attribute, over the same days.

RouteWhat you can seeWhat you cannot see
PaidPost analytics at about an hour, a day, three days and a week, plus likes, comments, views and saves in Analytics, after approvalSite visits or orders from the post. Add a bio link and your own analytics
GiftingEach creator’s stage, links they submit, and a CSV of the boardWhether a post caused a sale
Affiliate on ShopifyClicks, add to carts and purchases on the dashboard, as they happenDetailed Reports tabs, which read Amazon data only
Affiliate on AmazonClicks, sales, units and conversion rate in Reports, plus Brand Referral BonusAnything outside the Attribution window of 14 days
  • Amazon Reports refresh from a pull at 06:00 UTC for profiles last pulled about three days ago, so a sale can take up to about four days to appear. Each pull covers the last 60 days, so recent numbers can change.
  • On an affiliate campaign card the figure labelled Commission paid is the sales your creators drove, not the commission you were charged. Use the Payments page for charges.
  • Every report tab has a Demo Data switch with made up numbers. Check it is off before you screenshot.
  • Shopify sales recorded before early October 2026 carry no commission and are not recalculated.
  • Your plan includes monthly advanced analytics reports: Free 3, Starter 30, Pro 100, Ultimate 1,000.

Keep one line per route in a simple sheet: cash out, orders you can attribute, and content you can reuse. That is the comparison that matters at day 90.

Scale without hitting a wall

The limits that stop an ecommerce brand are rarely the fee. They are programs, campaign slots, invitations and a Free plan commission floor.

  • Starter is the plan that lifts the 25% commission floor and opens gifting. Pro adds a second active store and two colleagues. Ultimate removes the store and campaign limits.
  • The invitation allowance is described as monthly on plan pages, while the seller app counts affiliate invitations per UTC day. Trust the counter in the user menu.
  • Adding a store beyond your limit connects it but leaves it Inactive. Switch another off first.
  • On a downgrade or cancellation, whatever is over the new limits is switched off, lowest selling first, and on the Free plan commissions below 25% are raised to 25% on products and existing partnerships. That raises what you are charged, so check rates before you downgrade.
  • Nothing switches back on after an upgrade. Reactivate what you want.

Questions ecommerce brands ask

Which route should a brand with no budget start with?

Affiliate, because it is the only route where the cost follows sales. It needs a connected Shopify or Amazon store and a card, and on the Free plan the lowest commission is 25%.

I sell on my own website. What can I run?

Paid collaborations and gifting. Track results with a bio link or a discount code, because automatic sale tracking is only for Shopify and Amazon.

Can I run all three at once?

Yes, as separate campaigns. Each holds a campaign slot. The combined paid plus affiliate campaign shows as Coming Soon.

When am I charged for affiliate sales?

About 35 days after each sale, in a nightly run at 03:00 UTC. If your card fails the charge is retried and then waits for you to retry it.

Are returns taken off a creator’s commission?

Do not assume so. Shopify refunds and cancellations are not automatically deducted, and the 35 day hold is the only buffer for returns.

Can I stop a program quickly?

Pause or delete an affiliate campaign from the affiliate campaign list. Gifting has no pause button, so set an end date or ask our team.

Does the platform fee come out of the creator’s pay?

On paid deals the fee is added on top of the price you pay, and on affiliate payouts it is taken from the commission you pay. Either way, you set the amount you spend.

From a connected store to a first reading

The route in order, including the long waits.

1Check your platform: Shopify or Amazon unlocks affiliate, any platform unlocks paid and gifting.
2Check commission against margin before you open an affiliate program.
3Connect the store, add the card, set commissions and save the affiliate products.
4Submit a paid collaboration and a gifting program for review.
5Recruit, invite in batches and ship what you promise.
6Approve deliveries and watch the dashboard.
7Expect the first affiliate charges about 35 days after the first sales.
8Compare routes by cash out and attributable orders, then move budget.

Ready to start with the route that fits your cash?

Connect your store or start a paid or gifted campaign. Most brands are live in an afternoon.
