Use Case Guide · For Small Businesses and Startups

Ainfluencer for Small Businesses and Startups

You do not need an online store, a marketing team or a large budget. Describe what you want, let creators send priced offers, pay one deal at a time with your money held in escrow, and approve the post before anyone is paid. This guide covers every step and every option.

Stop 1

What a small business can do here

You do not need an online store, a team or a large budget to start. Two of the three campaign types work for any business, and the third needs a Shopify or Amazon store. Pick the one that matches what you sell and what you can afford to spend.

What each kind of business usually starts with

Services and local businesses

Run a paid collaboration. Ask creators to publish a post about you, or choose Only create content for me and take the finished files for your own channels. Restrict it to creators who live where your customers do.

Product businesses

Start with gifting if the product is affordable to give away, and add a paid collaboration for the creators you want to brief directly. Paid deals can also ship a product, with optional insurance.

Apps, courses and software

Run a paid collaboration and ask for a link in the creator’s bio. The wizard has a step for exactly that, with your own address in it.

Brands that sell on Shopify or Amazon

Affiliate is open to you as well. Read Ainfluencer for Shopify Sellers or Ainfluencer for Amazon Sellers for that route.

Already running an affiliate program somewhere else? Choose I already have an affiliate platform in the picker. That opens the paid collaboration wizard, so you pay a fixed fee and share your own tracking link with the creator. On the Free plan a campaign that promotes an outside affiliate program can be rejected during review, so that route works best from a paid plan or with a funded wallet. The reasons our team sends campaigns back are listed in How to Launch a Campaign.

Set up your brand in an afternoon

Only two answers are required to get into the dashboard. Everything else can wait, but a complete profile helps creators decide whether to work with you.

StepWhat you doRequired?
1. Create the accountGo to app.ainfluencer.com/register, choose I’m a brand, enter your name, work email, a password of at least 8 characters and a phone number with its country code, then confirm the five digit code we email you. Sign up with Google skips the codeYes. The phone number is stored but never verified
2. Business name and locationType your business name, then pick your country. Links and contact details are refused in the nameYes. After these two the dashboard works
3. Six optional screensCompany size, category, preferred platform, the kind of creators you want, a logo (JPG, JPEG or PNG up to 8 MB) and up to two goals. Each has a Skip buttonNo
4. Finish the profileOpen Profile from the header. Add About Your Brand, which creators read when deciding whether to work with you, plus target platforms, creator size, estimated budget, categories and hashtagsNo, but an empty About Us is one of the common reasons a campaign is sent back

What you get once you are in

A dashboard

Your campaigns, offers, invitations sent and deals closed, recent messages, offers waiting for your payment, deliveries waiting for your review, your wallet balance, the publishing schedule and your team.

An inbox

Every creator conversation in one place, with filters by campaign type, campaign status and platform. Both sides can save message templates, and you can send up to five bulk messages a day.

A wallet in US dollars

Top up when you are ready to pay for a deal. Nothing needs funding to get a campaign approved or to start receiving offers.

A brand score

Points for live campaigns (5 each), closed deals (10), money paid (1 per $20), profile items (1 each), offers answered within a day (2) and reviews you write (10). Tiers run Bronze to 499, Silver to 1,499, Gold to 2,499 and Platinum above that. It is recalculated from your current state, so it can fall when a campaign ends.

Team members

The owner can invite colleagues from Team Members. Roles are not available yet, so everyone has the same access as the owner, including payments. Only the owner can edit the profile.

A creator content library

Delivered posts and files collect under Contents, with download, a link to the live post and a share link anyone can open. The page is for the account owner only.

Changing the business name or country later is done on the Profile page. If you cannot open it, you are probably working inside another brand’s team.

Stop 3

What it costs, before you spend anything

A paid deal has three parts: the price you agree with the creator, a platform fee that sits on top of it, and optional insurance. Money is held in escrow until you approve the delivery, so a small budget can be spent one deal at a time.

PartHow it works
The priceAgreed with the creator in the offer. The minimum is $10 and there is no maximum
The platform feeAdded on top of the price and calculated on the price after any coupon: Free 25%, Starter 20%, Pro 15%, Ultimate 3%. It is never taken out of what the creator is paid, and it is not refunded if the deal fails
Insurance (optional)For physical products you ship to a creator. You enter the product value and pay a percentage of it, shown at checkout. It covers a product that is not returned and creators who never deliver. It is not part of the base the platform fee is calculated on
CouponOne per order. A fixed amount or a percentage, sometimes with a minimum or maximum order. Ainfluencer pays the discount, so the creator still receives the full price
CreditAdded to your account by our staff. It sits in your wallet balance, is spent before your own cash, and cannot be withdrawn

What a $500 wallet buys

Because the fee is added on top, the same wallet covers a different creator budget on each plan. This is arithmetic, not a forecast, and it ignores insurance and coupons.

PlanFee on topMost you can pay creators from $500Fee included in that
Free25%$400.00$100.00
Starter20%$416.67$83.33
Pro15%$434.78$65.22
Ultimate3%$485.44$14.56

The gap between Free and Starter is five points. At a monthly price of $49 you would need to spend about $980 a month on creators before the lower fee alone paid for the plan, and about $1,490 a month to cover Pro at $149. Small budgets usually upgrade for other reasons, such as more campaign slots, more invitations or gifting, covered in the plans stop below.

Adding funds

  • The Add Funds page offers $500, $1,000 (recommended), $2,000 and $5,000 buttons, or any whole dollar amount from $1.
  • Pay with a saved or new credit card, Stripe (Apple Pay, Google Pay and cards), PayPal or crypto. A card is credited at once. For the others you are sent to the provider and credited when you return to the confirmation page, so do not close the tab early.
  • No fee is taken on a top-up. You agree when you add funds that unused deposits are not refundable to your card, so top up in amounts you expect to spend.
  • The page always shows all four methods, and a method the team has switched off only tells you so after you click.
  • Your subscription is charged to your card at Stripe, not to the wallet.

Where your money is

Open Payments & Billing from the profile menu. The wallet tab shows your balance, top-up history, your default card and a breakdown of total spent, held in escrow, paid to creators, refunded to you and credits received. Each transaction opens a cost breakdown, and money in escrow has a shortcut to review and release it. Payments made before August 2025 are under Older transactions. Full detail is in How to Fund and Manage Your Wallet and How Refunds Work.

Creators see a line in the app saying Ainfluencer takes a share of their fee. That is taken from their side when they withdraw, and it is separate from the platform fee you pay on top. You do not need to raise your price to cover it.

Stop 4

Write your first paid collaboration

A paid collaboration is a brief that creators answer with a priced offer. The wizard asks one question per screen and saves each answer as you go, so you can stop and come back from Edit on the Campaigns page.

  1. From New Campaign, choose Paid Collaboration and click Let’s Go. This is where your plan’s campaign slot is checked.
  2. Answer I am a Shopify user or Others: my products are not on Shopify. Choose the second.
  3. Answer the brief (the table below).
  4. Upload at least one image or video. This is the step that submits the campaign. A campaign still showing Draft almost always has an upload that was never saved.
  5. A window offers to fund your wallet. Funding is optional, and you can skip it and launch.
QuestionWhat you can choose
What should creators do?Post my existing content, create and publish content, or only create content for me
How big should they be?Nano 5k to 10k, Micro 10k to 100k, Macro 100k to 1m, Mega over 1m, or any range
Which gender?Male, female or all
Are you shipping a physical product? If yes, pick the countries creators must live in. The next screen is skipped
Countries and languageWhere the creator lives and the language they speak
How long should the post stay up?Negotiate it per offer, permanent, or a set duration of at least four hours
A link in their bio?If yes, enter your own address. Creators add it when they publish
Categories and hashtagsAt least one category. Hashtags can be skipped
Who can send offers?Only creators you invite, or any creator
Title and descriptionWrite them, use a template, or let AI draft them from your brief or website. AI works twice per campaign and only for the account owner
Platforms and formatsInstagram feed, story or reel, TikTok video, YouTube video, with an optional caption
Upload contentOne to ten files for creators to use
About your brandA short description, up to 1,024 characters
LimitWhat it is
ImagesJPG, JPEG or PNG, up to 8 MB each
VideosMP4, WEBM, WMV, AVI, MOV, OGG, OGV or MPEG, up to 100 MB each
CaptionUp to 2,200 characters and 30 hashtags, with no contact details
DatesNone. A paid collaboration stays on the marketplace until you pause or delete it, and creators propose their own posting date in the offer

What happens after you submit

  • The campaign shows Pending Approval and holds one of your campaign slots. Our team reads it before creators can see it. You are emailed if something needs changing; fix it with Edit and the campaign goes back into the queue.
  • Common reasons for sending one back: a thin description, too few visuals, a campaign that looks like a test, an empty About Us on your profile and contact details in the text or images.
  • Creators you chose before creating the campaign are invited after approval, not before.
  • A draft you leave unfinished gets a reminder email after 24 and 72 hours.
  • Campaign slots count live campaigns and campaigns waiting for review: Free 1, Starter 2, Pro 3, Ultimate unlimited. Drafts, rejected, expired and paused campaigns do not count, so pausing one frees a slot.

If your own team or agency should not be reading creators’ offers, set Only invited influencers and invite the ones you want. Leave it open if you would rather let creators come to you.

Rejections and edits are covered in How to Launch a Campaign.

Stop 5

Find creators and invite them

Search is the quickest way to a shortlist. It asks which campaign you are recruiting for first, because that decides what the button on each card does.

FilterWhat you can choose
FollowersNano 100 to 10k, Micro 10k to 100k, Macro 100k to 1m, Mega over 1m, or a custom range
QualityGreat, Good or OK
Who they areUsername or keyword, hashtag, location, category, language, gender
BudgetA rough estimate of the creator’s fee
Gifting campaigns onlyAddress ready to ship
  • Profiles show reach across platforms, a gallery, audience, published content, ratings and reviews from other brands, and earlier Ainfluencer collaborations three at a time.
  • Handles are masked until you reveal them. Your plan includes a monthly allowance: Free 5, Starter 50, Pro 100, Ultimate 6,000. Extra reveals cost $1.00 on Free and Starter, $0.75 on Pro and $0.50 on Ultimate, paid from the wallet. A reveal is permanent for that creator, and paying an offer reveals them for free.
  • Save creators to named lists (up to 50 characters per name) from the Save to list button or the heart on a profile. Lists can be exported, shared or invited in one go from Favorite Influencers.
  • Creators you already invited to a campaign, or who already sent an offer for it, are left out of that campaign’s search.
  • Data on Instagram accounts is refreshed monthly, so recent growth may not show yet.

How invitations work

  • Invitations are not instant. Twice a day, at 06:00 and 18:00 UTC, each creator gets one grouped email, plus a push if they use the app, listing every campaign that invited them.
  • Only creators with an email address on file can be invited.
  • Invitations to a campaign that is still being reviewed are held, and are deleted after three days if it has still not been approved. If our team rejects the campaign they are deleted too, so invite again after approval.
  • The same creator is only invited again to the same campaign if the earlier email failed or was sent 14 or more days ago.
  • Each creator you invite counts against a monthly allowance: Free 5, Starter 50, Pro 500, Ultimate 50,000. If you select more than you have left, you can invite as many as remain and stay on your plan. Extra invitations cannot be bought separately.
  • A creator invited from an email link can answer even if they sit outside your gender or country limits. Offers started from the in-app invitation list go through your limits.
  • If an invitation sent from search does not reach a creator, send it again from their profile or a saved list.

Twenty to thirty creators is a realistic first batch. Invite in rounds, and reply to offers quickly: answering an offer within a day earns brand score points.

The full search guide is How to Find and Invite Creators.

Stop 6

From offer to payment

A creator proposes the deal, you pay to accept it, and your money sits in escrow until the post is delivered and you approve it.

What a creator sends you

Offers arrive in your Inbox with the status Waiting Payment. Each one carries a price (minimum $10), a delivery date, how long the post stays up, a pitch of 50 to 250 characters, the topics they post about, a description of their audience, the kinds of collaboration they offer and past work. A creator can send one offer per campaign. Emails, phone numbers, links and handles are blocked in these texts.

Offers from a creator whose account is still under quality review are held back and appear once our team approves the account, usually within a day.

Your options

You want toDo thisWhat happens
Accept itClick Pay in the chat header. There is no separate Accept buttonCheckout opens, and paying is your acceptance
Change the termsEdit: price, delivery date, duration or bio link, then Send Edit for ApprovalThe offer goes to the creator as Waiting Influencer Approval. If they accept, it returns to Waiting Payment. If they reject, the original terms stand
Turn it downReject, then Yes, Reject it, pick a reason and add an optional commentThe creator is told. Either side can reopen it later with Edit
  • The reject wizard has two optional extras: get more targeted influencers, which updates the campaign’s country and gender limits, and archive unmatched offers, which archives other waiting offers that do not fit. Skip them unless you mean it.
  • The three dot menu has a Reject Offer item that only files the offer under the rejected view. Use the Reject button in the header to reject it for real.
  • Offers that sit in negotiation for six months with no payment are deleted automatically, together with their chat.

Paying

  1. If the delivery date is less than 24 hours away or has passed, a window asks for a new date first. It needs to be at least a day ahead, and a week or more gives creators a fair chance. The creator is told in the chat.
  2. Checkout shows Pay safely with Escrow: price, platform fee, optional insurance, coupon, wallet credit and the total.
  3. Switch on Pay from wallet to use your balance first, choose a card, PayPal, Stripe or crypto for the rest, tick the terms box and pay.
  • The minimum payment is $10. A checkout stays valid for 30 minutes, then the order expires and you start again from the Inbox.
  • Cards that need extra bank verification do not work inside checkout. Use another card, Stripe, PayPal or your wallet.
  • If a PayPal, Stripe or crypto payment finishes but the offer still says Waiting Payment, your money is in the wallet. Pay the offer again from the wallet.
  • We email you after one and three days about an offer you have not paid, and after three hours and 24 hours about a checkout you left open.

Keep the conversation on Ainfluencer

Until an offer is paid, contact details and links in the chat are hidden from the other side, and a message of yours that contains them is not sent from the web app. Paying unlocks sharing, and brands on Ultimate have open messaging. A nightly check flags unpaid offer chats where contact sharing was attempted, and repeat breaches can lead to a suspension. Chats take attachments up to 20 MB for images, 200 MB for videos and 50 MB for PDFs, ten files at a time.

Archive closes the chat for both sides. The Archive item in an offer’s menu does not just tidy your list: the creator cannot reply until you unarchive it.

Step by step payment is in How to Pay for an Offer.

Stop 7

Delivery, approval and your rights

After you pay, the creator posts on their own account and submits the link or the files. Approving the delivery is what releases their payment, and nothing approves it for you.

StageWhat happens
You payThe price moves into escrow, the offer becomes Paid and Scheduled for you and the creator, and the creator is emailed
RemindersThe creator is reminded 72, 24, 12, 6 and 3 hours before the publish date
They deliverThey paste up to five post links from Instagram, TikTok or YouTube. For content only deals they upload files instead
You reviewOpen the chat. Under Final Delivered Result you can view the post, download, preview or copy a share link, and approve or disapprove
ApprovalClick Approve it. The money is released to the creator within about a minute. The note you can add goes to our team, not to the creator

If the creator is late

  • A creator can extend the deadline once after payment, and the new date applies straight away without asking you. Your money stays in escrow.
  • With no link or files two days after the publish date, the deal expires and your payment is refunded to your wallet three days after that date, unless the creator saves it first.
  • On a failed deal where the money is still held, Edit lets you restart it by extending the date.

If you want something changed

  • Before the creator posts, Edit becomes a revision request: price, date, duration or bio link. A higher price must be paid first. The creator accepts or rejects, and a rejection returns any extra money to your wallet. Each deal allows two revisions by default.
  • Disapprove it keeps the money held so the creator can fix the post. If they do not, you are refunded 14 days after the deal’s start date. Our team’s disapproval refunds you at once.

Do not leave a delivery waiting. There is no automatic approval. If nobody approves, the deal is marked failed and your money goes back to your wallet, roughly nine to ten days after a readable post link is submitted and sooner if the link cannot be read, such as a story or a private post. The creator is then unpaid. You can still approve afterwards, and the price is taken from your wallet again. Our team also checks deliveries.

Usage rights and reuse

The offer records only the price, delivery date, how long the post stays up and the bio link. If you want to run the content as an ad, reuse it on your site or edit it, agree that in the chat before you pay. Delivered files can be downloaded, shared by link, and for videos translated into other languages as a paid add on: $0.99 per minute per language, with any video up to a minute billed as one.

The review steps are in How to Review and Approve Delivery.

Stop 8

Gift your product instead of paying

Gifting means you send a free product and pay no fee. That single fact shapes everything else: there is no escrow, and if a creator does not post, what you have lost is the product and the postage.

Build the program

Choose Product Gifting & Seeding. The wizard saves six steps as a draft.

  1. Service. A title, then Self-serve (you approve creators and ship) or Managed (our team runs it by hand).
  2. Products. At least one. No store is needed: type a name, retail price and image.
  3. Cadence. One time with a total number of units, or monthly, with a start date and an optional end date.
  4. Recipients. Categories, audience size, platforms and languages, with optional requirements such as minimum engagement, age 18 or over, disclosure and competitor exclusivity.
  5. Shipping. One ship from country and the countries you ship to. Only creators there are matched.
  6. Review. Click Launch program. Your plan and a campaign slot are checked, then our team approves or rejects it.

Run it

  • Creators can request the gift, or you can invite them from search with Request to send product. Filter for Address ready to ship because a creator without an address cannot receive anything.
  • Cards move through Pending Influencer Acceptance, Requested by Influencer, Accepted, Shipped, Received, Completed, Rejected and Archived. You see the shipping address once you accept, and it locks when you move the card to Shipped.
  • You post the parcel yourself. Share the tracking number in the chat and move the card to Shipped the same day.
  • The creator confirms receipt, posts, and submits the links. You can then see what was published, and a table view and CSV export list everyone.
  • Gifting requests are cancelled by the system if your account or the creator’s account is suspended. They cannot be reopened.

Settings that look like controls and are not. Total units, units per month, pause when stock runs low, roll over unused units, the monthly summary and tracking notifications are stored but nothing acts on them. Requests keep arriving after your unit count is reached, so count your own units. There is no pause button: set an end date in Edit, or ask us to pause it. Changing the products of a live program sends it back to review.

The complete walk through is How to Run a Gifting Campaign.

Stop 9

See what you got for your money

Results show up in four places. The numbers are public figures read from the post, plus what the creator chooses to share about their audience.

WhereWhat it shows
DashboardCampaigns, offers, invitations sent, deals closed, offers waiting for payment, deliveries waiting for review, wallet and score
SchedulerA calendar of upcoming and delivered posts by day, with View Offer, Preview Campaign, View Feed and Analytics on each deal
AnalyticsPer campaign and per creator: likes, comments, views and saves, plus recommended creators to invite. A campaign appears here only after an approved, link based delivery has data
Post AnalyticsOne post over time: likes, comments, engagement rate and bio link clicks
  • Snapshots, not a live feed. Ainfluencer reads the public numbers about an hour, a day, three days and a week after the creator submits the link. Uploaded files, stories and private posts have no numbers.
  • Request a creator’s insights. Use the chart button in the chat to ask for screenshots of their audience for the last 90 days. You get one request per offer, and the screenshots you see are the creator’s latest set.
  • Write a review. When a deal shows Published, Failed or Disapproved by Admin, click Write a review: stars for performance, communication and sticking to the agreed terms, a private yes or no on whether you would work together again, and a public review up to 5,000 characters. Our team checks it before it appears on the creator’s profile. Reviews cannot be edited after submitting.
  • Deeper reports. Your plan includes a monthly allowance of advanced analytics reports: Free 3, Starter 30, Pro 100, Ultimate 1,000. Over the allowance a report is charged from your wallet at $1.00 on Free, $0.75 on Starter and Pro and $0.25 on Ultimate, instead of being refused.

If you advertise the campaign yourself, link the creator’s post from your own site and track visits with your usual analytics. Ainfluencer reports on the post, not on what visitors then do on your site.

New conversations and collaborations a month appear on the plan comparison, but the product does not stop you when you pass them, so they are left out of this table.

  • Stay on Free while you run one campaign at a time and pay creators occasionally. You keep every feature of paid collaborations.
  • Move to Starter when you want gifting, a second campaign at once or fifty invitations a month. It is the plan that opens gifting.
  • Move to Pro when two people need to work in the account, or when you run three campaigns and want a larger invitation batch.
  • Ultimate adds unlimited campaigns, the 3% fee and open messaging, and is aimed at heavy spenders.

Allowances reset on the 1st of the month on Free and on your subscription anniversary on paid plans. Upgrades apply immediately and Stripe charges the difference. Downgrades and cancellations take effect at the end of the period you paid for, and what exceeds the new plan is switched off: extra campaigns are paused and extra colleagues removed, so decide what to keep first. Extra invitations, seats or campaigns cannot be bought on their own. See How Plans, Limits and Upgrades Work.

Questions small businesses ask

Do I need a website or a store?

No. Paid collaborations and gifting work for any business, and a link in the creator’s bio can point at anything you own, including a booking page or an app listing. Affiliate through Ainfluencer needs a connected Shopify or Amazon store. Non-Shopify/Amazon & Integrations explains the options.

I only have a small budget. Where do I start?

One paid collaboration with a campaign limited to your country, a wallet top-up of the amount you are happy to spend, and an offer you pay for one at a time. The minimum deal is $10 and the minimum top-up is $1, so nothing forces a large first spend.

Can I pay a creator outside Ainfluencer?

It is against the rules and you lose escrow, so you could lose your money if they do not deliver. Contact details are hidden before payment for that reason.

What if the creator never posts?

The deal expires and your payment is refunded to your wallet, less the platform fee and any coupon or credit you used. Refunds go to the wallet, not your card.

What if I do not like the post?

Talk to the creator in the chat and click Disapprove it so the money stays held while they correct it. A revision request is for changes before they post.

Can I use the content in my own ads?

Agree usage rights in the chat before you pay. They are not part of the offer record.

Why is my campaign still Pending Approval?

Our team reads every paid collaboration and gifting program before creators see it. You are emailed if it is approved or needs changes.

Can my agency or freelancer help me?

On Pro and above you can add colleagues. Everyone added has the same access, including payments, because roles are not available yet. On other plans share a delivered post with the Contents share link instead.

I made a mistake in my sign up email.

You cannot change it yourself. Contact support and our team updates it for you.

Can I get unused wallet money back on my card?

Deposits are not refundable to the card if unused. Special cases go to our finance team through support.

From sign up to your first approved post

The whole route in order, including the two waits.

1Create a brand account, confirm the email and answer the two required questions.
2Finish the profile, especially About Your Brand, so the campaign is easy to approve.
3Write a paid collaboration and upload at least one file. That submits it for review.
4Wait for approval. Invitations you queued go out after it, at 06:00 and 18:00 UTC.
5Invite twenty to thirty creators, or leave the campaign open, and read the offers as they arrive.
6Top up your wallet, then pay the offer you prefer. Paying is accepting it.
7The creator posts and submits the link. Review it and click Approve it within a week.
8Write a review and check the numbers in Analytics. Repeat with the creators who worked well.
