Shopify SEO Agencies: 14 Worth a Call in 2026
14 Shopify SEO agencies sorted by price, with what Shopify already does, redirect and robots.txt traps, contract terms and the questions to ask.
Most advice about hiring an SEO agency was written for websites in general. A Shopify store is a narrower problem. The platform already produces your sitemap, your canonical tags and a sensible robots.txt, so nobody should charge you for those. What is left is the work Shopify cannot do for you: deciding which collections deserve to rank, writing pages people want to read, fixing apps and themes that slow the store, and surviving a migration without losing the traffic you already have.
We read the websites of 14 agencies that sell exactly that, on 4 November 2026, and sorted them by what you should expect to pay. Prices are shown only where the agency publishes them. Anything an agency says about its own results is reported as its own statement, because we could not audit any of it.
Who to Call First, Depending on Your Store
A starting shortlist by situation
| Your situation | Start with | Why that one |
|---|---|---|
| Small catalog, limited budget | PageTraffic, Loopex Digital | Both publish a starting price, and both work month to month or on a rolling 30 days |
| Growing DTC store that wants a Shopify specialist | 1Digital Agency, Break The Web | Both have a dedicated Shopify SEO page, and 1Digital publishes a full price ladder |
| Shopify Plus, large catalog or a migration coming | Victorious, Digital Commerce Partners, OuterBox | All three describe collection structure, canonicals and crawl handling for big catalogs |
| You also need the theme rebuilt | Enstacked, Blackbelt Commerce | Both are Shopify build agencies that sell SEO next to development |
| You want an hourly rate in writing | SmartSites | It states 40 hours at $65 an hour as its entry plan |
| You want a partner Shopify itself lists | Coalition Technologies | Shopify’s own directory shows it as a Premier service partner since 2011 |
What Is Different About SEO on Shopify
Shopify’s help pages are clear about what the platform handles. It generates a sitemap.xml and a robots.txt for every store, adds canonical tags, serves the site over SSL and lets themes output Product schema. You can edit titles, meta descriptions, URL handles, image alt text and redirects yourself. What Shopify does not do is pick keywords, write content or earn links. That is the gap an agency fills.
Who does what on a Shopify store (from Shopify’s own help and developer pages, read 4 November 2026)
| Shopify already does this | Someone still has to do this |
|---|---|
| Generates sitemap.xml and robots.txt | Decide which collections and products deserve to rank |
| Adds canonical tags | Write collection and product copy that matches how people search |
| Lets themes output Product schema | Check the schema actually appears and is valid on your theme |
| Creates hreflang automatically once markets use separate domains, subdomains or subfolders | Choose a market structure and keep translations complete |
| Gives you a redirects tool | Plan redirects for a migration, because a redirect only works when the old URL is broken |
| Names themes, apps and third-party scripts as the main speed levers | Audit apps and scripts and remove what you do not need |
Two details are worth knowing before you talk to anyone. First, Shopify says its default robots.txt already blocks filtered and sorted collection pages, and that editing it through a robots.txt.liquid file is unsupported, so Shopify Support cannot help if it goes wrong and a bad edit can cost you traffic. An agency that wants to rewrite your robots file should be able to explain why. Second, Shopify’s redirects tool only fires when the old address is broken. If the old URL still loads a page, the redirect does nothing. That matters a great deal in a migration.
The Agencies, Grouped by What You Will Pay
The groups below are rough. Most agencies quote after a call, so a few sit where their published figure puts them or where a trusted third party places them, and we say so. They are not ranked, and the order inside each group means nothing.
Roughly $500 to $2,000 a Month
PageTraffic
PageTraffic has a dedicated Shopify SEO page that covers crawl and indexing fixes, robots.txt and crawl tuning, redirect audits, URL parameter clean-up, product schema, image optimisation and page speed recommendations. It sells four packages, Bronze to Platinum, starting at $499 a month and scaling with the size of the store, from about 100 products up to about 1,000, and the number of keywords tracked. It is month to month, and you get a monthly report on rankings and Analytics plus an action plan.
It shows a Shopify Partner badge without naming a tier, and it quotes one Shopify client at +380% organic traffic without naming the store. It also promises ‘guaranteed growth’ with no terms. Its own pages disagree about where its head office is, Chicago or New Delhi. At these prices, expect a defined checklist rather than a bespoke strategy.
Loopex Digital
Loopex is based in Glendale, California, with a second office in Yerevan, and says it has more than 100 SEO specialists. Its Shopify page is the most concrete of the budget group. It talks about turning collection pages into landing pages with content blocks, internal links and FAQ modules, using Online Store 2.0 metafields and JSON templates, and it admits it cannot fully control Shopify’s default heading structure. It ties success to organic revenue in Shopify Analytics, Search Console and GA4, with weekly reports.
Engagements start at $1,500 a month on a rolling 30 days. The named results are all traffic: Lilac St. from 44 to 57,822 monthly organic visits in 38 months, Eminent from 5,000 to 144,000, Q for Quinn from 3,700 to 30,800 in 14 months and Public Desire from 63,910 to 169,910. There are no revenue figures, and it claims no Shopify partner status. It says it works on 120 or more Shopify and WooCommerce stores on one page and over 50 Shopify stores on another.
Coalition Technologies
Coalition’s own website refused our automated reading, so this entry rests on Shopify’s partner directory, which lists it as a Premier service partner since September 2011. Shopify’s listing shows SEO starting at $1,800, store builds from $5,000 to $100,000, more than 300 people and a 4.8 rating from 31 reviews on Shopify. It also reports 97% client retention, which is Coalition’s own figure.
That is enough to say it is real and long established on the platform. It is not enough to describe its technical method or its results, so read its Shopify page yourself before you shortlist it. It is a full-service shop that does design, development and paid media as well, so SEO is one line among several.
Marqade
Marqade, in Alpharetta, Georgia, says it has more than 150 people and serves about 20 industries, from ecommerce to law and cannabis. Its Shopify page describes a Liquid theme audit to strip unneeded code, collection and product metadata, keyword-to-collection mapping, a crawl check for duplicate URLs, product schema and image compression. Its FAQ puts Shopify SEO at $500 to $5,000 or more a month and says results take three to six months.
Named Shopify clients are Apparel Artist, at +240% organic traffic, and 67Wine, at +180% organic discovery after crawl, speed and mobile fixes. The site calls itself the number one Shopify expert without a source, and no partner tier is claimed. It is a broad agency, so treat Shopify as one platform among many on its books.
Roughly $2,500 to $5,000 a Month
SmartSites
Shopify is covered inside SmartSites’ ecommerce SEO page rather than on a page of its own, but the page is candid about Shopify’s limits. It names the fixed URL structure, duplicate collection paths and app-heavy themes as things that hold rankings back. The entry plan is the clearest price in this guide: $2,600 a month for 40 hours of work at $65 an hour, with the hours depending on catalog size, platform and competition.
Clients get a live Client Hub from the first week and a written report each month. It lists named results such as The Light Walk Shoes, at about +1,958% organic traffic, but gives no baselines. It is a large generalist, with about 370 people worldwide, and it claims no Shopify partner status.
1Digital Agency
1Digital, headquartered in Miami and founded in 2012, has the most complete Shopify-specific scope we found. Its page covers Liquid output and theme audits, render-blocking scripts, Online Store 2.0 sections and metaobjects, headless builds, keyword-to-collection mapping, collection hierarchy, product schema built from metaobjects, variant URL handling and Shopify Markets. It says it has been a Shopify and Shopify Plus partner since 2012 and has handled more than 200 Magento to Shopify Plus migrations.
Its national SEO ladder is published: $1,499, $2,499, $3,299, $4,299 and $5,999 a month, with a six-month initial term and no setup fee. Work outside the plan is $185 an hour. Its Shopify page names no client with a result, and its example stores are labelled as made up. Two pages of its own site disagree on whether there is a long-term contract, so ask which one applies.
Searchbloom
Searchbloom, of South Jordan, Utah, says SEO starts at $3,000 a month, which is a general figure and not a Shopify one, and that it has no lengthy contracts. Its Shopify page returned only a title when we read it, so its Shopify method is described mainly in its own guide to Shopify agencies, updated on 29 September 2026.
That guide ranks Searchbloom first using its own scoring, so it is not independent. The site names no Shopify case study and claims no Shopify partner status. It is a sound general SEO agency that says it suits mid-market and Plus stores, and it is worth a call, but ask to see a Shopify client.
Break The Web
Break The Web’s Shopify page says services start at $4,000, which we read as monthly. It covers product and collection page optimisation, keyword and architecture work, technical SEO including speed, migration help onto Shopify and content. It reports each month in plain English and concentrates on health and wellness, beauty and pet brands.
Its named results are strong on paper: Gisou at +1,365% global organic traffic, Quiet Mind at +652% and VIM & VIGR at +400%. The case index does not say which of those clients run on Shopify, so the Shopify proof is weaker than it looks. It claims no partner status and does not offer international SEO. It has published dated Shopify posts through 2026.
$5,000 and Up, or Quote Only
Victorious
Victorious has a Shopify page aimed at Shopify Plus that covers collection and product page keyword strategy mapped to buying intent, canonicalisation for faceted navigation, crawl budget on large catalogs, Product schema and migrations. It measures progress with a metric it calls organic traffic value, reports monthly and gives clients a dashboard.
Its own blog says long-term SEO runs $5,000 to $20,000 a month, its homepage tells you to budget at least $6,000, and it works in 12-month cycles. It shows one Shopify case with numbers, a UNIONBAY result of organic revenue up 200% year on year. It claims no Shopify partner badge. This is not for a small store, and the commitment is real.
Digital Commerce Partners
This Toronto agency has 11 people and works only with direct-to-consumer brands, mostly on Shopify Plus. It describes restructuring collections around how buyers search, setting canonical tags across collections, passing internal link equity to canonical product URLs and fixing indexing problems caused by Shopify’s default URL generation. It also tracks visibility in AI answers across nine platforms.
Its own site states no prices or contract length. Clutch, which is a third party, lists packages of $5,000, $9,000 and $15,000 a month, so treat that as unconfirmed. It limits itself to about 15 partners, so there may be no room. Its results are anonymous, such as an unnamed Shopify client at +329% organic traffic in eight months, and it has no Shopify partner badge.
OuterBox
OuterBox, founded in 2004 with offices in Akron, Houston and Tuscaloosa, has the deepest Shopify page we read. It starts with an audit of crawl, indexation, duplicate content, Core Web Vitals, schema, redirects and apps, then sets rules for which collections and subcollections get indexed, canonical and noindex handling, breadcrumbs and internal links. It also covers Shopify Plus, Markets, headless builds and B2B.
It reports on indexed pages, non-brand rankings, orders, revenue, conversion rate and average order value. It claims Shopify Partner status without a tier, and it publishes no price. Clutch’s $1,000 minimum is a third-party figure. Both Shopify case studies are anonymous, one showing +118% organic revenue after recovering from a migration. SEO is one line in a very large shop.
Shopify Builders and Generalists With an SEO Line
Enstacked
Enstacked is mainly a Shopify development shop with offices in Wilmington, Delaware and Ahmedabad. Its SEO page says fixes are made in the theme template rather than through an SEO app: structured data, sitemap and robots rules, title and meta patterns set once at template level, and canonical rules for variants. It offers a free audit within 48 hours and a month-to-month top tier, and reports each month against your starting baseline.
It says crawl reports improve within two to four weeks and ranking movement takes three to six months or longer when there is technical debt. It publishes no SEO results with numbers, only development case studies, and its founding year is stated two ways. Pricing is quote only. It calls itself a Shopify Partner without naming a tier.
Blackbelt Commerce
Blackbelt Commerce, in New York, is a Shopify and Shopify Plus design, build and migration agency. It claims Verified Shopify Plus Partner status. Its Shopify SEO page is mainly an advice article rather than a description of service, and it publishes no SEO price. It offers a free store audit and says there is no 12-month lock-in.
Its numbers do not agree with each other. One client is shown at +700% organic sales, +614% traffic and, in a snippet marked as a sample, +128%. If you want SEO from the team that rebuilds your theme, it may suit you, but ask for one case with a baseline.
Elit-Web
Elit-Web has a Shopify SEO page, but its scope is general: keyword research, on-page work, technical fixes for speed and indexing, content through Shopify’s blog and link building. It publishes no price, mentions a performance-linked fee model on its homepage and reports monthly. It claims 120 or more professionals and a 5.0 Clutch rating from 81 reviews.
Its project counts are stated two ways, and its one Shopify example, PatioLiving, is not clearly a Shopify store. We include it as a minor option and would ask for a Shopify-specific reference before going further.

How We Picked These 14, and Who We Left Out
We began with the agencies that turn up in published lists of Shopify SEO agencies, then opened each agency’s own pages and looked for a real Shopify SEO page, its pricing and its case studies. To be included, an agency needed to be active and to describe Shopify-specific SEO work, not only generic SEO.
Four agencies that appear in other lists did not meet that bar, because their own sites show no Shopify SEO practice: Ignite Visibility, Luxeo, Embarque and Make Be Cool. Intero Digital has a Shopify page, but its site would not let us read it, so we left it out rather than guess. Most published lists are written by agencies that rank themselves, and a few openly say so, so treat every list, ours included, as a place to start.
What a Fair Shopify SEO Price Looks Like
The ways agencies charge, as seen above
| Model | How it works | Seen at |
|---|---|---|
| Tiers by catalog size | A fixed package that grows with product count and keywords | PageTraffic |
| Hourly plan | A block of hours at a stated rate | SmartSites, 1Digital for extra work |
| Monthly retainer | A scoped fee, sometimes with a floor | Loopex Digital, Break The Web, Victorious |
| Package ladder | Five levels from entry to premium | 1Digital Agency |
| Quote only | Scoped after a call or audit | OuterBox, Enstacked, Blackbelt Commerce, Elit-Web |
Other publishers quote $1,500 to $10,000 a month as the normal range for a credible agency, with a tail up to about $15,000. Those are estimates from firms that sell SEO or compare agencies, and several contradict each other, so use them only to see whether a quote is wildly off. The agencies above that publish a figure start between $499 and $4,000 a month and reach $20,000 at the top, and the spread mostly reflects catalog size and how much technical work is included.
Check These Before You Sign
What to ask, and what a good answer sounds like
| Ask | A good answer |
|---|---|
| Will you edit robots.txt.liquid, and why? | They explain the exact rule they want to change and keep a copy of the default. Shopify calls the file unsupported |
| How will you handle redirects in a migration? | They map old URLs to new ones before launch and test that the old URLs are actually broken |
| What will you do about filtered and sorted collection URLs? | They know Shopify’s default robots.txt blocks those and can say what, if anything, they would change |
| Which apps and scripts will you remove? | They name how they audit page speed and who is allowed to remove an app |
| How do you report? | Organic revenue and non-brand rankings from Search Console and your own analytics, not a ranking list alone |
| Who owns the content and links if we leave? | You do, and it is written into the contract |
| Can you show a Shopify client with a baseline? | A named store, a date range and a starting figure |
| What is the minimum term? | Anything from month to month to six or twelve months is stated up front |
How Long Before You See Anything
Agencies agree that technical fixes show up in crawl reports first and rankings later. Enstacked says two to four weeks for the crawl and three to six months or longer for ranking movement on a site with technical debt. Marqade also says three to six months. Nobody we read promised a date, and one that does should make you cautious. Ask what the first 90 days will contain, and what you will be able to see at day 30.
Where Creator Content Fits Into Shopify SEO
An SEO agency works on your pages and your links. It does not usually produce the creator reviews, social posts and affiliate content that make people search for your brand by name. That is a separate job, and for a Shopify store it can feed the same goal. Our guide to Shopify influencer marketing for merchants covers how stores work with creators, and if you want an agency to run it, see the best Shopify affiliate marketing agencies.
Ainfluencer, which publishes this guide, runs a marketplace of creators and affiliates that connects to Shopify. You can read how Ainfluencer works with Shopify stores. It is our own product, and it is not a substitute for an SEO agency.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Shopify handle SEO on its own?
Partly. Shopify generates a sitemap, a robots.txt and canonical tags, and lets you edit titles, descriptions, URLs, alt text and redirects. It does not choose keywords, write content or build links.
How much do Shopify SEO agencies charge?
The agencies above that publish a price start between $499 and $4,000 a month, and one states $5,000 to $20,000. SmartSites quotes $65 an hour. Most others quote after a call.
Is it safe to edit robots.txt on Shopify?
Shopify’s default suits most stores, and it treats a custom robots.txt.liquid file as unsupported, so its Support team cannot fix a mistake. Only change it for a clear reason, and keep a copy of the default.
Will I lose traffic if I move to Shopify?
You can if the old URLs are not redirected correctly. Shopify’s redirects tool only works when the old URL is broken, so plan the mapping before launch and test it.
Do I need a Shopify Plus agency?
Only if you run Plus or have a very large catalog, several markets or B2B. Victorious, Digital Commerce Partners, OuterBox and 1Digital describe that work. A smaller store is usually better served by a standard retainer.
How long does Shopify SEO take?
Agencies we read say technical changes show in weeks and ranking movement in three to six months or more. No one should promise a date.
Should I pick an agency that also builds themes?
It can help if your theme is the problem, because fixes happen in the template. Ask for an SEO result with a baseline, not only development case studies.
Where to Start
Pick two or three agencies from the table that match your budget and store type, ask each the questions above and request one Shopify client with a starting figure. If the answers are vague, move on. A good agency will tell you what Shopify already does and what it is actually selling you.
